Some time ago i've been working hard, building flutes like amazon tribes does on wood and bamboo. I've tried painted vinil resin and light reflexive tapes with excellent results, good for gardens and outer spaces, like ecological parks inviting people to walk also in the cities squares. The same reflexive tapes - with glass microspheres is a material that can be applied in recicled metal and fixed on wooden pieces. Recicling and working with art to protect wild life, light and poetry of the new millenium calling our native amerindian ancestors. romulo, Brasília - Brasil.

Rômulo’s art is as plural and synchronic as Brazilian culture: a culture of synthesis formed during five centuries of ethnic miscegenation. Art whose itinerary is full of crossroads, in which the real never separate from the symbolic, with elements of indigenous origin, coexisting and combining with other Iberian-moorish, in a very Brazilian visual way for its synchronic scope, for its hybridism. Brazilian art, authentic, born from a permanent poetic intuition.

Time perception is not the same in the high plains, the heart of Brasil, where Rômulo lives since many years. In a big city it is much more difficult to tune in with archetypal forms identified by Rômulo in his cultural nomad way and in his almost backwoodsman isolation that favors introspection and self knowledge. In his construction of the brazilian face identity making here in the central drylands - Cerrados, utilizing pigments and mineral oxides in the works that he manufactures on his own - Rômulo Andrade exhibits symbols and dreams in paintings of a restoring and stimulating meaning.
